Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo will visit Naypyidaw, Myanmar's administrative capital, to attend the 4th Summit of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS)-Economic Cooperation Program, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said Thursday.

Spokesman Liu Weimin announced at a daily press conference here that the meeting will be held from Dec. 19 to 20.

China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam -- countries sharing the Mekong River, in 1992 entered into a program of sub-regional economic cooperation, designed to enhance economic relations among the countries.
