At least eight people were killed on Friday in central Colombia when a landslide buried two homes in an indigenous reserve, rescuers said on Friday.
"We have found eight bodies," said Oscar Mejia, local firefighters'
commander who led the rescue units to the landslide site at Riosucio town in Caldas.
The landslide occurred at 0630 local time (1100 GMT) in the San Lorenzo indigenous reserve and only one child was rescued from the two homes where about 10 people used to live, Mejia said.
Initial investigations indicated that the tragedy was caused by the intense rains.
Disasters in the ongoing rainy season this year have killed 144 people and affected 583,761 others, said the country's Red Cross.
