A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) pledged in Beijing on Friday to boost cooperation with the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist).

Wang Gang, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks while meeting with a delegation from the Nepalese party led by senior official Lila Mani Pokharel.

Wang, also vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, hailed the achievements of bilateral relations since the forging of diplomatic ties between the two countries over 50 years ago.

He added that, since both countries set up a comprehensive cooperative partnership in 2009, they had maintained frequent exchanges in various areas and sound coordination in global and regional affairs.

Wang said, "China-Nepal relations have set an example for the development of equal and mutual-beneficial relations between countries."

Wang said the CPC is ready to enhance exchanges with the Maoist, in a bid to push forward bilateral relations.
