Six crew members were killed when a military helicopter crashed Friday in Sudan's western region of Darfur, the official news agency SUNA reported.
The helicopter took off from El Obeid airport in North Kordofan State on an "administrative mission carrying military equipment," SUNA said.
It caught fire three minutes after taking off due to a technical fault, which forced the pilot to try to land on a square near the airport, it added.
The crew members, including two pilots and four technicians, were killed in the crash.
