At least four people were killed as U.S. drones fired two missiles at a house in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of North Waziristan which borders Afghanistan early on Wednesday morning, reported by local media Geo.
This is the first U.S. drone strike in the past 46 days since the NATO troops launched an air strike on two Pakistani border posts on Nov. 26, 2011, which killed 24 Pakistani troops and wounded 13 others.
The report of the strike came at about 2:00 a.m. Wednesday when two missiles were fired by U.S. drones at a house suspected of being a militant's hideout in Miranshah, a main town of North Waziristan.
At least four people were killed in the strike and several others injured, said local media, adding that the identities of the killed and the injured are not known yet.
The U.S. drone attack on Wednesday morning is also the first of its kind in Pakistan since 2012. Last year a total of 63 U.S. drones strikes (counted on a daily basis) were reported in Pakistan, killing at least 543 people.
