Thai residents ordered to evacuate after Indonesian quake

Residents in six Thai Andaman coastal provinces have been ordered to evacuate after 8.7 Richter quake hit Indonesia.

The six provinces are Ranong, Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang and Satun.

According to the website of Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, under the U.S. government, it is speculated that the tsunami possibly hits Phuket at 6.18 p.m., Phang Nga at 7.23 p.m., and Satun at 7.56 p.m. local time.

The evacuation is underway. Thai media reported that tsunami siren can be heard in many risky area.
