The six victims of a small plane crash on Saturday in western Switzerland have been identified as the pilot and members of a family, local police said Tuesday.
Besides the pilot, the other five are family members, including the 60-year-old father, his son and the son's girlfriend, his daughter and her husband.
Local media reported that the date of the crash -- April 28 -- corresponds to the date of birth of the father, confirming the hypothesis that the family had leased the plane for a birthday celebration tour. His son was born April 29, 1983.
The six were killed Saturday around 3 p.m. local time when their single-engine aircraft plunged into a field in the village of Tatroz, near Fribourg.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
