An overloaded minibus overturned in Eastern South Africa on Monday morning, leaving seven people dead and 14 seriously hurt, police said.
The accident occurred at around 6:30 a.m. near the town of Machdodorp in the eastern province of Mpumalanga as the driver negotiated a bend on the road, said police.
The minibus overturned and rolled several times before stopping, and the injured were rushed to a hospital for receiving urgent treatments, according to police.
Police said the minibus was overloaded as the accident happened and further probe would be launched.
It was the latest fatal road accident in Mpumalanga. On May 12, two fatal road accidents took place in the same province, causing eight people killed and 13 hurt.
In recent years, the road traffic accidents have become one of the biggest killers in South Africa.
