Fifteen people were injured after a passenger train derailed south of Egypt's capital Cairo on Tuesday, state-run Nile TV reported.
The passenger train, en route from Sohag governorate to Cairo, crashed with big solid materials near the Badrasheen station in southern Giza governorate, leading to the overturn of three carriages.
The health ministry initially put the number of the injured at four, but later revised it to 14, denying any deaths in the accident as some early reports said.
Some of the injured were transferred to a local hospital for treatment.
Passengers of another train from Assuit to Cairo protested against a decision to make way for the Sohag-Cairo train. They put obstacles on the rails, which caused the accident, state media reports said.
The accident stopped all the trains to and from southern Egypt.
The worst train accident in Egypt's history happened in 2002 when a train from Cairo to Aswan caught fire, leaving 373 dead and more than 70 injured.
