A Southwest Airlines plane experienced on Monday morning a bomb threat during its flight from El Paso in far west Texas to the Hobby airport in Houston, the largest city in the lone star state.

According to the reports on the website of local English daily The Houston Chronicle, a caller, who called about 11:20 a.m. local time, told a dispatcher a note stated a bomb was onboard the flight 24.

A spokeswoman for the airlines confirmed that a hand-written note was found on the plane about 11 a.m., and the plane continued its journey to Houston and landed safely as the bomb threat was considered non-credible. The plane was inspected and was found to be safe after arriving in the Houston airport.

The plane is expected to be used later today, and the incident did not disrupt normal operations or delay flights.

The authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
