Another instructor at a U.S. Air Force training center in the state of Texas on Monday pleaded guilty in a widening sex scandal that involved more than a dozen U.S. Air Force trainers.
Jason Manko, the fifth instructor at the Lackland Air Force base to face trial, admitted to wrongfully seeking a relationship with a technical trainee and wrongfully engaging in sexual activity with the woman, base spokesman Brent Boller was quoted by local media as saying.
Manko was sentenced to 45 days' confinement, reduced to a lowest rank, and was ordered to forfeit part of his pay for three months and given 30 days' hard labor, according to reports.
Manko and 17 other instructors are being investigated in a widening scandal that has shaken the Lackland Air Force base, one of the busiest military training centers in the United States.
Six male instructors at Lackland have been charged with crimes ranging from adultery to rape, and five of them have been convicted.
More than 40 female recruits have alleged they were sexually assaulted or harassed by male instructors within the past year.
