3 Chinese killed in Indonesia road accident

Three Chinese citizens were killed after a tour bus turned over in Indonesia's West Java province Monday, police told Xinhua.

The identities of the dead were confirmed by the Chinese embassy in Jakarta.

The accident took place at around 11 o'clock Monday when a tourist bus lost control and fell down at Emen Slope in Subang, West Java, police officer in charge of traffic management center in West Java, told Xinhua by phone.

The bus was heading from Bandung, capital of West Java province, to a hot spring resort named Sari Ater, he added. The police officer said that three Chinese tourists and one Indonesian were killed in the accident, and all victims had been sent to Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung.

The bus was carrying 19 passengers from both Chinese mainland and Taiwan, the Jakarta Post reported Tuesday. A malfunction of the brake system might be the cause, according to the report.
