Lakhdar Brahimi, the joint special representative of the United Nations and the Arab League for Syria, is to visit China from Oct. 30 to 31.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei made the announcement at the regular press briefing on Monday.
He said China valued and supported Brahimi's coordination efforts in promoting a political resolution of the Syrian issue.
"China expects to have in-depth talks with him during his visit and will make joint efforts to advance the process of a political solution to the Syrian issue," he said.
