China on Thursday called for reinforcement of cooperation among five BRICS countries at the third meeting of senior representatives of national security affairs held in the Indian capital.
During the meeting, Chinese State Councillor Dai Bingguo said the world is undergoing major and fundamental changes, which are marked by the fast resurgence of newly emerging market economies and developing countries on all continents across the world.
These new emerging economies and developing countries have become a major force in pushing forward transformation of international structure and relations and in pulling ahead the growth of world economy, he said.
They are also exerting increasingly wider and more important impact on the formation of a multi-polar world structure and the democratization of international relations, as well as the change of world political and economic maps, said the senior Chinese official.
Dai suggested that BRICS countries establish more confidence in their own ways and prospects of development and in cooperation among themselves by promoting the ideas of solidarity, cooperation and win-win situation.
He called for deepening, consolidating and strengthening cooperation of mutual benefits, better coordination in international and regional affairs for seeking international justice, promoting world peace and development and setting up a new model of state-to-state relations in the era of globalization.
The meeting was chaired by Indian National Security Adviser Shiv Shankar Menon and was attended by senior officials from Russia, Brazil and South Africa.
The attendants of the meeting made in-depth exchange of views on international situation and BRICS cooperation and reached many consensus.
