Egyptian Prime Minister Hesham Qandil ordered to set up a hotline to receive complaints against sexual harassment, official news agency MENA reported Thursday.
Qandil instructed the interior ministry to assign female officers to deal with the complaints, MENA quoted cabinet spokesman Alaa al-Hadidi as saying.
Egypt has recently witnessed a growing rate of sexual harassment, an explicit phenomenon since 2011 due to constant protests and deteriorating security.
Several marches have been organized by women and anti- harassment activists demanding legal procedures against sexual harassment.
