Carnival of Cultures parade kicks off in Berlin

More than 4,000 revelers representing the ethnic communities from some 80 countries and regions in Berlin took part in the annual parade on Sunday, showcasing the cultural diversity and affluence of the German capital.

This carnival dates back to 1995, when the city was struggling economically and social divisions were apparent.

The four-day street street festival started on May 17, 2013.
