One was killed and some 70 others were injured on Friday in clashes between opponents and supporters of Egypt's Islamist-oriented President Mohamed Morsi in the coastal city of Alexandria, official news agency MENA reported.

The one was first wounded by birdshot in the neck during skirmishes following the Friday prayers, and died on his way to University Alexandria Hospital, MENA quoted a medical source as saying.

Most of the injured are in serious conditions, the report said.

This is the fifth death across Egypt since last Friday, as the country is set to witness massive anti-Morsi protests in two days. Endi
