Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit the United States from Sept. 19 to 21, as a guest of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, and then attend the UN General Assembly in New York, a Foreign Ministry spokesman announced on Monday.

Wang and Kerry will exchange views on China-U.S. ties as well as international and regional issues of common concern, Hong Lei said in a written statement.

The 68th Session of the UN General Assembly will start at the United Nations headquarters in New York on Sept. 17.

Wang will head a delegation to attend the conference from Sept. 22 to 27 and deliver a speech at the General Debate of the UN General Assembly, Hong said.

Wang's speech will elaborate on the diplomatic philosophy and thinking of China's new administration. He will also expound China's proposition on the current international situation and major international and regional issues, according to the spokesman.

The foreign minister's speech will demonstrate China's willingness to work with United Nations member states to contribute to peace and the development of mankind, Hong said.
