A booby-trapped truck went off Sunday morning in the countryside of the central Syrian province of Hama, killing at least 30 people, mostly civilians, and injuring tens of others, pro-government Sham FM radio reported.
The truck, loaded with one and a half tons of explosives, ripped through a military checkpoint at the outskirts of Hama, leaving at least 30 people dead, the report said.
The blast came a day after activists said a suicide car bomber detonated his explosive-laden vehicle at a military checkpoint in the Mlaiha suburb of the capital Damascus, killing at least 16 soldiers.
Separately, the radio report said 10 rebels were killed Sunday by army operations in the northwestern province of Idlib.
