China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) on Thursday donated two vehicles to Myanmar Alinyaung (Brightness) Foundation (MAF) for "Tour of Sight" in the country as part of the China-Myanmar "Paukphaw Friendship" activities.

The donation ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of International Department of Central Committee of Communist Party of China and Vice President of CFPD Li Jinjun, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Myint Swe and MAF Chairman Dr Soe Min.

Li Jinjun said that CFPD and MAF have been cooperating in three phases -- launching series of free Cataract Operation programs in Myanmar, sending local medical staff to China for training and providing relevant equipment for eye surgical operation.

"We also provided medical check-up to 20,000 local eye patients including free cataract surgeries for more than 2,600 local patients with a success rate of 100 percent since we started free eye surgical treatment campaign in Myanmar in 2011," MAF added.

CFPD, a private foundation, is to support relevant organizations and agencies to participate in international cooperation and exchanges and to carry out international public welfare activities in order to promote world peace and development and mutual prosperity.
