Search continues in southern Indian Ocean: AMSA

The search operation for the objects possibly related to the missing Malaysian Airlines aircraft will continue on Friday, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) said on Friday.
"Today's search will utilise four military aircraft, including two RAAF Orions, tasked by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) to search a 23,000 kilometre area, about 2500 kilometres south-west of Perth," AMSA said in a media release.
The area is the same as the searched area on Thursday by four aircraft tasked by AMSA.
AMSA said that a merchant ship remains in the search area and another merchant ship is en route to the area and is expected to arrive Friday night.
A total of six merchant ships have assisted in the search since a shipping broadcast was issued by AMSA on Monday night.
On Thursday, two Royal Australia Air Force AP-3C Orions, a US Navy P8 Poseidon, and a Royal New Zealand Air ForceP-3K2 Orion were utilised, along with an RAAF C-130J Hercules aircraft.
As the visibility was limited by cloud and rain, no findings have been made in Thursday's search operation.
Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott on Thursday told parliament that "new and credible information" had come to light in the search for MH370.
AMSA confirmed on the following press conference that it has received an expert assessment of commercial satellite imagery of objects it suspects may indicate a "debris field" from the flight, floating in the ocean 2,500 kilometers south-west of Perth.
