The German armed forces are preparing to deliver the so-called non-lethal military materials to the Kurdish fighters in northern Iraq, German media Spiegel Online reported on Monday.

In order to improve the protection of the Kurds in the fight against "Islamic state" (IS), the German armed forces are preparing to deliver 4000 bulletproof vests, 200 radio units and 680 night vision devices, according to Spiegel information.

The first aircraft with the equipment materials could possibly leave later this week.

The comprehensive list of the delivery also covers approximately 4000 helmets as well as 20 metal detectors and 30 mines probes to Kurdistan.

In addition, the local Kurdish fighters should also get 40 tackle boxes with tools, said Spiegel Online.

However, the German government has not published a fixed schedule in the issue of deliveries of arms so far. A final decision about a possible list of weapons will be made on Wednesday.
