The Islamic State (IS) militants Friday executed a cameraman works for an Iraqi television and three of his relatives in Iraq's central province of Salahudin, a provincial police source said.
Raad al-Azzawi, 37, cameraman for local news Sama Salahudin satellite channel, was kidnapped about month ago with his brother and two relatives by the IS militants for alleged collaboration with Iraqi security forces, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
While the Paris-based Reporters Without Borders group said that U.S. war with Iraq was the most lethal for journalists since World War II, statistics of the Iraqi Union of Journalists showed that more than 300 of its members and media workers were killed since the start of the U.S.-led war in March, 2003.
