Six were injured after a man attacked people with a knife and a bat on Sunday noon at a park in Chiba prefecture, eastern Japan, local media reported.

Local fire department said it received a call around 11:20 a.m. local time saying a man was attacking people with a knife and a bat in a park in the city of Matsudo.

The six injured, including the attacker, have been sent to a hospital, and two of them were seriously hurt.

The police are investigating the identity of the attacker and the cause of the attack.
