Xi wraps up three-nation visits

Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping left Istanbul of Turkey for China on Wednesday afternoon, wrapping up his 10-day official visits to the United States, Ireland and Turkey.

During his five-day stay in the United States, Xi traveled to four cities across the United States: Washington D.C. in the east, Muscatine and Des Moines in the midwest, and Los Angeles in the west.

Xi attended 27 formal events in his U.S. tour. Among others, he met with U.S. President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, congress leaders and other senior officials. He addressed several business forums, visited a farm and a school, reunited with his old friends who he acquainted in Iowa 27 years ago, and watched an NBA match in Los Angeles.

In Ireland, his first leg is Shannon in southwestern part of Ireland, where he visited a farm. In Dublin, He met with Irish President Michael D. Higgins and held talks with Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny. Xi also watched Gaelic football and hurling matches, which are typical and most popular games in Ireland.

During his stay in Turkey, Xi held talks with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and met with Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek in Ankara. He also visited Istanbul, where he met with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and addressed a business forum.
