A total of 38 students from the Republic of Congo will leave for China next month after having been awarded scholarships by the Chinese government.
Speaking on Friday during a meeting with the students who have won scholarships in the presence of the Congolese Higher Education Minister Ange Antoine Abena, the Chinese ambassador to Congo Guan Jian said the students will go to 26 Chinese universities to study in about 10 areas including civil engineering, industrial engineering, environmental science, pharmacy, architecture and finance.
He said the beneficiaries of the scholarships were the best students who were recommended by the Republic of Congo's government.
Speaking during the same forum, the higher education minister advised the students to behave well and concentrate on their studies while in China, and to remember to come back to the country to use their acquired skills to help the country achieve its vision of becoming a middle income economy by the year 2025.
