China's top quality watchdog Tuesday night ordered the country's entry ports to strengthen monitoring of radioactive substances amid leakages in Japan.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said it has made such requirements as explosions at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan pose uncertainties.

It said it has ordered local bureaus to enhance risk analysis for radioactive substances entering the country.
