A magnitude-6.2 earthquake hit Ryukyu Islands around 13:02 GMT on Saturday, said the Hong Kong Observatory.

The epicenter was monitored at 29.9 degrees north latitude and 131.8 degrees east longitude, about 220 kilometers south-southeast of Kagoshima, Japan.
