Hong Kong pop star Andy Lau announced on Wednesday that he will
start his "Wonderful World" concert tour in Hohhot, capital of the
Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on September
1.
In two months, Lau will perform in 15 cities around the country,
including Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, Chengdu and Harbin. He will
return to Hong Kong for a series of concerts over Christmas
holidays before he continues overseas next year.
The Shanghai concert will be staged at the 43,000-seated
Shanghai Stadium on October 27. Tickets, starting from 120 yuan
(US$15), will go on sale soon.
"I'm very excited about my debut in Hohhot," Lau said at
yesterday's press conference in Shanghai. "I enjoy exploring places
I have never been. Hohhot will be the most distant part in China I
have performed in."
Lau said the concert tour has cost 60 million yuan and the stage
will feature a state of the art Japanese LED screen which will be
seen for the first time in China.
