Party Chief of Health Ministry Removed

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Sunday removed Zhang Wenkang from his position as secretary of the leading CPC members' group of the Ministry of Health and Meng Xuenong as deputy secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.

Meng was also removed as member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and member of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.

In the decision, the CPC Central Committee appointed Gao Qiang secretary of the leading CPC members' group of the Ministry of Health.

Wang Qishan was appointed deputy secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and member of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.

At the same time, Wang was removed from the posts of the secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and member of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee.

Wang Xiaofeng was appointed secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee.
