The Malaysian leader also urged the people in the country to support the government's strategies to attract tourists as he officially launched the festival celebration, which will showcase Malaysia's kaleidoscope of arts, culture and traditions until June10.
This year's Colors of Malaysia themed "Millions of Colors, Millions of Smiles" kicked off with a five-part performance, including fashion shows, leaders' speeches, cultural dances, and fireworks display.
Malaysia will hold some other events coinciding with Colors of Malaysia, including a program called "Flavors of Malaysia" which is designed to show the best cuisine of the country at hotels, restaurants and shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur and its nearby areas.
