Yu Kewei signed up with Rock Records Company Tuesday, marking a turnaround in fortunes for the girl who missed out on the top honor on the "Happy Girl" talent show in September.
She becomes the first of the girls this year to sign a contract, Beijing Star Daily reports Wednesday.
Yu Kewei dropped out of the "Happy Girl" final show, however she convinced the audience members with her good voice and singing expertise.
Rock Records pledged that they will release Yu's new album in one hundred days on March 18, 2010. The powerful team behind Yu will include music field pinnacle professionals, Chang Chen-yue and Jonathan Lee Tsung Sheng and eight more top producers in the mando-pop scene.
Chang Chen-yue said at the celebration ceremony he will find a best way suitable for Yu Kewei to develop. It was their first meeting while Chang said that gave him much more freedom for further plans on the budding singer's future.
2009 annual talent show "Happy Girl" stormed through the country and a bevy of young girls dreaming after a music career have risen to stardom since the show.
