Elva Hsiao mourns at her mother's memorial service

A memorial ceremony for Taiwan pop singer Elva Hsiao's mother was held on Monday in Taipei and was attended by relatives and close friends.
Hsaio's close friends, including Jayce Chan and JJ Lin, attended the memorial service and offered their support.

Hsiao's mother died of cervical cancer on New Year's Day at a local hospital where she was receiving medical treatment, just hours after her daughter finished performing a concert at the Taipei Arena.
Despite the loss of her mother, Hsiao said she and her younger brother would support each other and would not let their mother down.

Hsiao will resume work on January 21 and is expected to give a concert in Macao two days later.
