Actress Lindsay Lohan was ordered on Monday by a Beverly Hills judge to wear an electronic alcohol monitor in a court hearing related to her 2007 no contest plea to drunk driving, local media outlets reported.

Aside from ordering Lohan to have the SCRAM device installed within 24 hours, Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel also ordered the 23-year-old actress to undergo random drug testing in California and attend once-weekly alcohol education classes in spite of the fact that Lohan's defense attorney Shawn Chapman Holley had protested, saying this would interfere with the actress's work on a movie in Texas.

Lohan was ordered to return to court at 8:30 a.m. July 6, when the judge will determine whether Lohan violated her probation by missing court-ordered alcohol classes. If Revel determines Lohan violated the terms of her probation, she could face 180 days in jail, local television channel KTLA 5 reported on its website.

The judge had issued an arrest warrant for Lohan last Thursday after Lohan failed to show up for a scheduled court hearing to review her performance on probation, claiming her passport had been stolen. Revel recalled the bench warrant after Holley posted a 10,000 U.S. dollars bond.

Lohan was not arrested when she returned from Paris to the Los Angeles International Airport Saturday evening after attending the Cannes Film Festival.

The probation stems from two car incidents in 2007. Lohan crashing a 12-cylinder Mercedes-Benz on Sunset Boulevard on May 26, 2007 while intoxicated. She also pleaded guilty to cocaine use in an arrest in Santa Monica on July 24 of that year.

Lohan appeared in court about 10 minutes late. Revel noted Lohan's arrival time and said it was not an issue.
