Sitcom star Charlie Sheen will plead no contest to misdemeanor assault stemming from his Christmas Day arrest for attacking long estranged wife Brooke Mueller, local media outlets reported Tuesday.
An Aspen, Colorado prosecutor confirms Sheen will get 30 days in county jail under a plea deal in his domestic violence case. With time served and good behavior, the actor could spend just two weeks behind bars, KTLA 5 reported on its website quoting sources with the Colorado prosecutor's office.
Sheen is scheduled to be in court next week for a disposition hearing,entering a plea and immediately begin serving time. He has been serving court-ordered 36 hours of anger management classes.
The 44-year-old comedian was arrested on suspicion he pinned Brooke Mueller to a bed and held a knife to her throat. Sheen was charged in February with felony menacing, misdemeanor third-degree assault and misdemeanor criminal mischief. The felony count, which carries a maximum three-year sentence, will now be dropped.
Shreen and Mueller both entered substance abuse rehab programs later that month. And the star of "Two and a Half Men" recently signed on for another two seasons of the popular sictom.
