Television and film actress Courtney Cox said her former "Friends" costar Jennifer Aniston is planning a film about a reunion of the cast of the popular American sitcom, Ent.qq.com reports.
Cox told reporters that Aniston generated the idea when she saw the success of Home Box Office's film version of "Sex and the City." The second "Sex and the City" film this year reinforced Anniston's decision to make a "Friends" reunion film, the report said.
Although Aniston has many great ideas for making the film, the project will not be easy to pull off. Cox said that unlike "Sex and the City" which hopped all over Manhattan, "Friends" took place mainly in a New York apartment and the "Central Perk" coffeehouse.
Reuniting all the former members of "Friends" would be a challenge as well, the report said. Furthermore, David Crane and Marta Kauffman, the creators of the 1994- 2004 series, have not given any information regarding their timetable for the prospective film's screenwriting.
"Friends" aired on the National Broadcasting Company's network from 1994 to 2004. It successfully created six characters—namely Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Joey and Chandler—all with different personalities, who became well-known among viewers in the United States and the rest of the world.
