Drugs charges against controversial U.S. socialite Paris Hilton were withdrawn in a FIFA World Cup Court in Port Elizabeth, South Africa early on Saturday morning.

Her friend Jennifer Rovero was fined 1,000 rands (133 U.S. dollars) or 30 days in prison after she pleaded guilty to possession of one marijuana cigarette.

Magistrate Xolile Dlulisa said the charges have been withdrawn by the state, according to the South African Press Association (SAPA).

Hilton was arrested along with Rovero on suspicion of possession of marijuana at a World Cup quarterfinal match between Brazil and the Netherlands.
