Chinese pop star Han Geng, former member of South Korean boy-band Super Junior, will stage his first solo concerts since splitting from the group, this weekend in Beijing.

Hitting Beijing Exhibition Theater Saturday and Sunday, Han will also showcase songs from his new solo album Gengxin (The Heart of Geng), to be released on July 27.
The concerts come despite an unresolved lawsuit with Han's former employer in South Korea.
Han filed a lawsuit in December last year against SM Entertainment, the creator of Super Junior, claiming unfair treatment compared to other members of the group.
Tickets for Han's concert Saturday sold out in 37 minutes, 16 seconds amid the con-troversy, according to official ticketing website China Ticket Online, setting a new record.
Han became known by pop music fans after beating 3,000 hopefuls in a competition to be part of a South Korean boy band. In 2005 he secured a contract with SM Entertainment as a member of Super Junior.
Disputes with SM Entertainment saw Han recently make the decision to go solo.
"I want express my gratitude to SM Entertainment, who gave me chances in the past five years," he said last month in Beijing. "Sadly, we always clash when working together, such as in understanding and respect."
