Paris Hilton's house intruder was charged on Thursday with attempted residential burglary, the District Attorney's office said.

Nathan Lee Parada, the man accused of trying to break into Hilton's Los Angeles home with two knives Tuesday morning, faces up to six years in prison if convicted.

It is still unknown if Hilton was specifically targeted. She posted a photo on her Twitter page of police outside her house and a man in handcuffs.

Hilton was sleeping when the man attempted to enter her home at 6:42 a.m., her publicist Dawn Miller said.

"The security cameras and alarm system were alerted and the police immediately came to the house and arrested the intruder who was attempting to break a window when they arrived," Miller said.
