Nicholas Tse and Cecilia Cheung divorced

After months of public and media speculation, the troubled celebrity couple Nicholas Tse and Cecilia Cheung finally announced their recent divorce on August 19, Sina.com.cn reported Monday.
The couple cited the reason for their divorce as incompatible personalities. The two said that, after a peaceful negotiation, they have agreed to share the custody of their two sons, Lucas, 4, and Quintus, 1. They said they would take their sons' happiness as their top priority.

"The reports which appeared on some media outlets in recent months are not in accordance with the facts," the two said in their announcement. "We reserve the right to pursue legal actions and hope that the public stops spreading more false rumors."
Tse and Cheung expressed their gratefulness to those who showed care to them and their family members. They also said they wished the public to leave a peaceful space for them and their children, whose growing-up they hoped could be filled purely with happiness.
The split couple said they would give no more responses to inquiries of their divorce after the announcement.
Rumors of Tse and Cheung's troubled marriage started to circulate in May and hogged headlines of various media outlets since.
