The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's top political advisory body, on Saturday showed its support to the latest resolution made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) designed to deepen reforms in the cultural sector.

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, addressed the closing session of the 15th conference of the 11th CPPCC National Committee's Standing Committee, which was presided by Wang Gang, a vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.

The CPC Central Committee paid great attention to this meeting of the top advisory body as Li Changchun attended its opening session, Jia said. Both Jia and Li are members of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau.

During the conference, all participants, including leaders of non-Communist parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, studied the essence of the Party's new resolution and fully supported an important speech made by General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Hu Jintao, on behalf of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, as well as the resolution on cultural reforms and the decision to hold the 18th National Congress of the CPC in the later half of 2012.

The cultural reform resolution conforms the situation of the world, the nation, the Party and the law for cultural development, Jia said in his address. He called it a "conglomeration of the wisdom of the Party and the Chinese People" and a "guiding document for the country's cultural reforms and development for now and a certain period of the future."

To study and implement the essence of the just-concluded 6th Session of the 17th CPC Central Committee is a major political task for the whole Party, the whole Nation, as well as the CPPCC, Jia said.
