French pianist Richard Clayderman will perform a concert at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on December 25.
Clayderman learned to play the piano from his father at a very early age. When he was 12, he was accepted into the Paris Conservatory of Music. But because of financial difficulties, he gave up a promising career as a classical pianist and found work as an accompanist to contemporary bands. After all these experiences, Clayderman went on to record more than 1,200 melodies, including instrumental renditions of popular music, rearrangements of movie soundtracks and ethnic music.
