Produced by famed filmmaker Gordon Chan, up-and-coming independent film director Miu-Suet Lai's suspense thriller "The Second Woman" had passed the content checking process of the Film Bureau of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT).

The movie is slated for release in March, 2012, according to a report on Mtime.com.

The production company kept a low profile about its shooting of a sensitive subject, containing adult content.

Shu Qi, best actress of the Golden Horse Awards, plays twin sisters who fall in love with a stage actor portrayed by Shawn Yue. The two sisters struggle with the discovery that they've slept with the same man.

In an interview, Shu commented that she was exhausted by playing two characters with completely different personalities.

The distributor of the movie commented on how the movie has experienced twists and turns in dealing with the strict movie censorship of the Chinese mainland. It will challenge the official definition of morality and ethics when it hits the nation's screens next year.
