It has just been learned that Taiwan singer Fong Fei-fei passed away last month at the age of 60, ifeng.com reported.

Fong died on January 3, after a six-month battle against cancer, Fong's attorney said at a press conference Monday afternoon. She was laid to rest in her hometown in Taoyuan, which is located in northwest Taiwan.

As the cancer affected her vocal chords, Fong was forced to cancel a concert last June and began chemotherapy between July and September.

She was the most popular singer in Taiwan during the 1980s. Born in 1953, Fong sang over 120 movie theme songs, including the songs written by Taiwan's famous novelist Qiong Yao for her TV series. These include "Moon Fascinating, Bird sweet" and "Cloud of Romance".

She was well-known for her hobby of collecting different hats.
