Chinese Piano Maestro Li Yundi has been performing in Turkey's capital Istanbul as part of a series of shows and exhibitions to mark the country's Chinese Year of Culture.

On Saturday, Li performed for a Turkish audience playing a mix of classical western and Chinese pieces.

Li shot to fame in China in 2000, when he became the youngest winner of the International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition at the age of 18.

It is one of the oldest and most prestigious music competitions in the world.

So far more than 70 events have already taken place in Turkey as part of the China Culture Year.
