The exhibition, which will end on April 7, is held in honor of the 6th World Autism Awareness Day, which falls on April 2 of every year. It is sponsored by the Beijing Association for Rehabilitation of Autistic Children (BARAC), China's first association for autistic children founded in 1993.

The event offers visitors a grand visual feast, featuring about 400 artistic works created by 24 autistic children who communicate with the world through their brushstrokes.

21-year-old Chen Meng from Gansu Province has captivated visitors with his stunning new depictions of China's splendid landscapes, whereas Changchang, a shy 20-year-old from Beijing, amazed people with his still-life series reflecting the beauty of daily life.

One visitor commented, "It's hard to believe they are autism sufferers as these works are so amazingly beautiful, creative and imaginative. Some of them are even better than those of famous painters."

Another visitor said, "I appreciated these works with a great admiration for life, and was astonished by the peculiar beauty inside. Every life should be treated with equality."

The children's works, characterized by their unique, focused innocence which allows them to focus solely on their creations, are markedly different from those produced by other children and professional adult artists. This is why their works are called the "Art of the Innocent."

"We cannot see anything ‘autistic' in their works, since the world through their brushstrokes is so fresh and vibrant," Li Mu, a prestigious professor at the Academy of Art and Design, stressed at the academic salon following the exhibition.
