Funds allocated for cultural heritage protection

According to the Shandong Provincial Department of Finance, new funds have been raised for the protection of the province's several major historical relics and cultural legacies this year.

100 million yuan (US$16.3 million) has been allocated thus far, with an increase of 30 million over the last year.

More than 95 cultural heritages, including the Zhougong Temple and ancient tombs of the Mencius family are included on the list for financial support.
