Taiwan singer, actress and writer Annie Ino says that parents should not only buy their children books but also accompany them in reading aloud classic children's books.
Annie Ino made the remarks on Friday afternoon at a gathering of around 60 Beijing-based families at a book-reading of heart-warming, internationally renowned children's classics, including a picture book on traveling in the US especially recommended by Ino, named 'This Is New York'.
The Taiwan actress volunteered herself as a teacher on the stage, sharing her advice to parents on how to enlighten their children through reading.
Ino also invited four children to participate in the activity under her guidance, including a boy from Shandong Province who has started to earn money for his very ill father, as well as two children with autistic disorder.
The China Children's Press and Publication Group and a charity books' fund initiated by Annie Ino jointly arranged the activity.
