After Han finished shooting his latest movie "Seek McCartney," he went to Orlando, Florida, to participate in a NASA space training camp.
He completed closed-door training missions and tests at the Kennedy Space Center and eventually got the qualification, which impressed the American trainers, the report said.
The singer has always loved extreme sports that challenge human limits and said he benefited from the training. The report revealed that Han would love to fly into space in 2014 and be one of first normal Chinese citizens to see the beauty of the Earth and experience zero gravity.
But according to Han Geng's official Weibo, He didn't win in the Lynx Space Academy competition in Florida, which is preparing for the Lynx Space Trip, which will take 23 winners into space on the XCOR Aerospace Lynx shuttle in 2014/2015.
Only three Chinese citizens participate in the training: Han Geng, Zhao Xingde, a legendary global traveler and Ji Shisan, whose real name is Ji Xiaohua, the founder of the Science Squirrels Club and CEO of Guokr Interactive Technology Media Company. In the end, Zhao won the competition.
However, considering Han's large Chinese fan base, Lynx, the sponsor which is a brand under Unilever which produces body sprays, deodorants and more, offered Han the title of ambassador of the Lynx Space Trip on Dec. 7,2013 and said he can go the space with other 23 other global winners.
The actual space flight will be organized by the Space Expedition Corporation (Space XC), which will offer daily commercial space flights from 2014, in the XCOR Lynx aircraft. The aircraft has no connection with the Lynx deodorant brand.
Several singers have expressed the desire to go into space. Sarah Brightman has said she plans on becoming the first recording artist to venture into space en route to the International Space Station sometime in the next two years, while Lady Gaga confirmed that she would sing a track in outer space during the Zero G Colony musical festival in early 2015.
