A biography recording the history of Yu Quan, the most successful pop duo on the Chinese mainland over the past 15 years, was recently released by CITIC Press Group.

Li Xiang, a renowned TV anchorman and author of the biography said the book discloses key factors as to why two grass-roots youngsters managed to achieve long-term success in the Chinese music industry.
Meanwhile, both the weaknesses and shortcomings of Chen Yufan and Hu Haiquan, the members of Yu Quan, have also been revealed in the biography, according to Li.
Li, a close friend of Chen and Hu, also added that the book contains a number of secrets concerning the pop duo, including how Chen Yufan left school and embarked on a path to become a pub singer as a result of disease.
The name Yu Quan is a combination of the singers' names - Yu from Chen Yufan and Quan from Hu Haiquan. The duo started singing together after working separately as song writers and music producers.
